Data Retention Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Your health record is only useful over time, so we keep it for as long as you keep your account — and delete it when you ask.

1. Principle

We retain personal and health data for as long as your account is active, because that is the purpose of a personal health record: showing trends across years. We do not keep data longer than needed for that purpose or for a legal obligation.

2. Retention periods

  • Health records (readings, vitals, lab results, medications, medical history, imaging and cardiology reports): kept until you delete the individual record or your account.
  • Uploaded documents and scan photos (lab PDFs, prescription and device photos, imaging reports): kept in private storage until you delete the record they belong to, or your account.
  • Profile data (name, email, mobile number, consent timestamps): kept for the life of the account.
  • Consent records and audit log entries: retained for the life of the account and for a limited period after deletion where we must be able to demonstrate that consent was given or withdrawn.
  • Device connections and sync history: kept until you disconnect the device; stored access tokens are removed on disconnection.
  • Support email: kept for up to 24 months after your issue is closed.
  • Inactive accounts: if an account is unused for 36 months we will contact you at your registered email before considering deletion.

3. Deleting individual records

You can delete any reading, lab report, medication, history item, or imaging study from inside the app. Deletion removes the record and its attached files.

4. Deleting your account

Email support@healthidia.com from your registered address with the subject "Delete my account". We verify the request, then erase your profile, records, and uploaded files. We aim to complete deletion within 30 days. Encrypted infrastructure backups may retain copies for a short rolling period before they expire.

5. Exporting your data

You can export a health summary as a branded PDF, including charts, from the Summary page, and export reports as PDF from the Reports page. If you need a machine-readable copy of everything for portability purposes, email us and we will provide it.

See the Privacy Policy for your rights, and the Security Policy for how data is protected while we hold it.
